Photographer. Mother. Obsessive Netflix-watcher. Lover of glitter, coffee & chocolate.
In my other life, I'm a photographer. I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. After high school I found a job at a retail portrait chain at the mall. I moved up the retail ladder fairly quickly, and over the course of the next 7 years I managed studios in New York, Myrtle Beach, and San Diego. In 2008, I decided to move back to Myrtle Beach and open up my own business. It’s been an amazing ride so far and I am fortunate to have a career that brings me so much joy!
I have a beautiful (and wildly independent) little girl, a husband that I absolutely adore and a blind, deaf pug that snores louder than a freight train.
Licenses, taxes, oh my... I'm "official"!

the design biz
I started using Showit not long after I launched my photography business in 2009. What made Showit different from other companies was the complete freedom to design anything you wanted without being tied to a template that hundreds of other businesses were already using. The introduction of Showit5 in early 2016 was a huge game changer... side by side desktop and mobile design, seamless blog integration, and the same drag and drop features that we love. I can't wait to see what you and I can create together!
And my love affair with showit sites
In 2012 I opened my first portrait studio. It was small, just under 600 square feet, but it was a great starter space. Then two years later a gorgeous storefront in The Market Common shopping center became available and I jumped at the opportunity to take it! This 1,300 sq ft space is everything I've ever dreamed of having.
In 2017 my studio partner and I released a brand new website showcasing our talents in one place, making it easier for clients to see what our studio can offer as a whole. Hop over and check out the beautiful custom design at MarketCommonPhotographers.com!

I'm here because I'm inspired.
And I hope that you will be too.
A day came where I finally sat down and spent some time working on my business as opposed to in it. I watched webinars, organized my life (Trello for the win!) and started reading some of the 257 business books that have been serving as decor and dust collectors in my home. (Anyone else love buying pretty books from Barnes & Noble and never actually reading them? Just me?) I even learned what a podcast is!
All of this resulted in a sudden desire to share with the world. (Which is an odd feeling for an introvert.) I want to help people grow. I want someone else out there to leave this page and feel inspired. Feel excited. Feel motivated. Feel confident.
So that takes us to where we are now... a shiny new blog.
